I knew immediately that she would be involved in our life, she is so kind and caring and she’s super fun to be around. Soon after that we got engaged. Kayla graciously adventured to the wilderness with us to take some amazing photos and we had the best time laughing and shooting. “Where to start.....I just love Kayla Willis! I mean what’s not to love! Kayla made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole photo taking process even though we had just met that morning. Trust me I was really nervous to be in front of a camera and she gave us a ton of direction which really helped. Everything with her was truly a great experience. From the booking (which was all done over the phone and all the way across the country), to helping set up a timeline, to day of wedding, to even our day after photo session, Kayla made it all just so easy and seamless. You definitely can tell she loves what she does, she has this fun encouraging personality and her photos will just make anybody smile and say “wow”. The pictures captured our day so beautifully and accurately. She truly has amazing photography skills. Our friends and family keep saying “oh my these look like something out of a magazine” and trust me I am no model haha.

“Our wedding day was nothing short of perfect and Kayla had a huge part in that. She arrived early so that she could check out the venue and took charge right away. The bridal suite was small and there was a lot going on but she helped facilitate where people should be and what people should do for pictures while we were all getting ready. That made me relived because even though I was relaxed, time was moving really fast and it was starting to get overwhelming. She took charge and kept me on time to make the day go smoothly. Kayla and her second shooter, Shelby, fit right in with our families/friends and everyone couldn’t stop raving about how much they loved them.
The day after the wedding I got a text from Kayla that our sneak-peak pictures were up on the website and I was so shocked! I was fully prepared to wait a few weeks before receiving any edited pictures from the wedding day. She sent us over ten pictures and each one we scrolled through, we liked it even more than the one before. Kayla drove almost two hours each way for our big day and to know she either stayed up late or got up early to go through and edit those, it truly meant so much to my husband and I!
Now my sister is using Kayla for her maternity photos and the pictures in the hospital after the baby is born. My best friend is also using her for her wedding this upcoming fall. That speaks volumes of Kayla’s work and personality. She will be the first person I go to for major milestones in my family and I will continue to recommend her to everyone I know. I am one of those brides who was forced to postpone her wedding due to COVID-19. As devastating as this has been for me, I have felt very fortunate to be surrounded by many supportive people, like Kayla Willis. Kayla was my engagement photographer. She took many gorgeous photos of my fiance Lance and I in San Francisco that now surround the walls of our home. However, Kayla's job as a photographer doesn't stop there. She equally cares about each of her brides- and her passion for helping others transcends far past the photos she has taken... But man, has she taken some amazing one of a kind photos! Kayla has the gift that many photographers strive for; the ability to capture time in its most authentic form. This ability is brought forth by her own authenticity. She is such a kind-hearted and passionate individual who genuinely takes the time to get to know her couples. If you were to look at her galleries, you would see just how unique each of her sessions are. This is because she captures personalities. Kayla actively listened to my ideas throughout the photoshoot and even allowed me to view images throughout. One of the most valuable things to a bride is the trust she holds with her photographer. I was able to instantly trust Kayla within minutes of our session starting. Her humor and enthusiasm allowed me and Lance to immediately come out of our shells and just be ourselves. Each of the pictures she captured represented us in our purest form, and I couldn't be more happy or amazed with how effortlessly she did this!Within just a week of our session, Kayla had already sent us a preview by creating our own personal gallery site. Watching my fiance light up when he looked at the photos was such a highlight for me. I got to keep saying, "I told you so!" (Lance originally did not think that an engagement session was necessary). The fact that Kayla can not only live out a bride's vision of the perfect photos, but also play on a groom's heartstrings, speaks volumes to just how incredible she is! Another major highlight for me was hearing so many of my loved ones rave about how they had never seen engagement photos this good before. So many people stated that they looked like they belonged in a magazine. My fiance and I were each as equally prideful and blissful when sending out our save the dates. If you are newly engaged, or a bride like me who has been forced to postpone her wedding, and are in need of photographer, I highly recommend Kayla Willis. “I first met Kayla at my best friend’s wedding. I was a bridesmaid and Kayla, along with her second shooter were there to capture the big day. To say that we had the time of our lives would be an understatement. Kayla had us DYING the entire time! Getting your photo taken by a stranger in todays day and age can be intimidating – We have angles, and “good sides.” Women these days are impossible to please. Kayla defies the odds. “I’ve been avoiding writing this review because I honestly can’t adequately articulate how thankful I am for Kayla.
Kayla took our engagement photos at Mt. Rainier when she was 12 months pregnant. It was cold and I was awkward, but Kayla worked her magic and got some amazing shots of us. You could hardly tell a human was punching her bladder. She waddled up the mountain, threw us in some wild flowers, and even coached my fiancé so I would lighten up....all to make sure we were happy with our photos. Even in her discomfort, Kayla’s focus was on making ME comfortable. She genuinely cares about her couples and capturing these milestones.
On our wedding day, Kayla and Shelby acted as wedding planners, photographers, and just all around champs. We had guests coming up to us and commenting on how wonderful they were. Even before we received our photos, Kayla and Shelby went above and beyond in coordinating, helping facilitate our wedding, and honestly just taking the pressure off.
For someone who is incredibly awkward in photos, I felt so at ease and in the moment. Obviously I’m biased, but our photos were the best ever. They were so important to me because not only were we getting married, but we were blending families. Kayla captured the most precious photos of my husband and stepson, photos that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
My sister and brother in-law have since used her for family photos. I will continue to use Kayla for all our family photos-she will be at my funeral making sure I look incredible as they lower me into my grave.
Jokes aside, I still go through our wedding photos in awe. Best decision I made in wedding planning was hiring Kayla, hands down. She perfectly captured our wedding day and we are forever grateful. “
The Woods
3 years ago my soon-to-be husband and I were desperately trying to find a photographer for our wedding after the one we originally had planned for had something come up. We were given Kayla’s info from another photographer. The second I saw her work I KNEW she was who I wanted to photograph our special day. We were actually her first wedding! Some might have been nervous about that but I had no doubt she would do amazing and she did just that! Our photos turned out incredible and I will cherish them forever and ever. Kayla is also very personable and makes every moment that you’re in front of the camera comfortable. She’s funny, witty, and easy going which makes things go so smooth! Also, she’ll help bribe your unruly toddler with fruit snacks, if need be. Ever since, Kayla has been the only person we turn to capture our beautiful and growing family. She truly does it all and does it beautifully. I am constantly complimented on how great our family/wedding/maternity photos are and it truly is because of Kayla’s pure and raw talent behind the lens. Which I may add, has only gotten better over time. Lastly, I am truly blessed to now call Kayla a friend. Her family is so cute and wonderful and we love them so much. I would never go to anyone else for photography needs. So, if you’re looking for someone to capture moments for you in a way you could never imagine, or have you looking like a pregnant Pinterest queen, than she’s your gal.
